The Rufous-collared Sparrow, is a widespread passerine bird found predominantly from Mexico through to Argentina, encompassing a variety of habitats including forests, shrublands, grasslands, and often found in gardens, parks, and suburban areas where they forage for seeds, insects, and fruits. While primarily terrestrial, they may occasionally perch in trees or shrubs. These sparrows are not considered endangered and are generally plentiful throughout their range.
