Zantedeschia 'Captain Brunello' (Calla Lily)

This compact, tuberous perennial herb is a garden cultivar of African calla lilies. It forms clumps of wavy, arrow-shaped leaves marked with white spots and grows about 1½ feet tall. Orange to pinkish-red spathes surround spikes of tiny flowers; the colorful spathes are modified leaves. The plant is harmful if eaten and can irritate skin and eyes. Photographed in Florida.
