Wrightia antidysenterica
Native to Sri Lanka, this evergreen shrub or small tree belongs to the dogbane family. In gardens it forms a bushy shrub about 5 feet tall, with opposite glossy leaves. Fragrant white flowers have five broad lobes around a yellow center and a slender tube beneath. It flowers freely in warm conditions, and its fruits are pod-like follicles. It also has traditional medicinal uses in India. Photographed in Florida.
