Wrightia coccinea

Native to parts of South and Southeast Asia, Wrightia coccinea is an evergreen shrub or small tree of tropical forest. Opposite leathery leaves frame terminal clusters of tubular flowers. Each blossom opens into five rounded salmon-pink lobes around a deeper red center, while elongated buds remain beside the open flowers. Photographed in Florida.
