Ruttya fruticosa
This plant is an evergreen shrub native to northeastern and eastern Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula. Glossy opposite leaves surround orange-red to red flowers, occasionally yellow, with a shiny brownish-black patch at the base of the lower lip. The corolla has an erect, deeply divided upper lip and a three-lobed, downward-curving lower lip. Photographed in Florida.
