Rhipsalis pilocarpa white flower with fine pale hairs opening from a fuzzy cylindrical green stem

Rhipsalis pilocarpa

Rhipsalis pilocarpa is an epiphytic cactus native to southeastern Brazil. Numerous slender cylindrical stems branch and hang from woody supports, with fine white hairs covering the new growth. Small fragrant white flowers open near the stem tips and display many pale petals and stamens. The white bristles arise from small areoles along the stems and remain visible around both developing buds and mature fruits. Photographed in Florida.
