Rhipsalis floccosa

This plant is an epiphytic cactus native to tropical South America. Its slender stems branch repeatedly, growing upright at first and becoming pendent with age. Small white flowers tinged with yellow develop along the sides of the stems, surrounded by tufts of wool. The ovary is embedded in the stem, and the flowers are followed by rounded, berry-like fruits. In Brazil, it occurs in Atlantic and seasonal forests, growing on trees. Photographed in Florida.
