Pseudoscops clamator (Striped Owl)

The Striped Owl is a medium-sized owl with a size ranging from 12 to 15 inches in length and weighing between 11.3 to 19.3 ounces, features large ear tufts and a brownish-white facial disk edged in black, a trait that sets it apart visually. The owl's eyes are a striking cinnamon color, and its beak is black. It possesses shorter, rounder wings compared to its close relatives. The upperparts of this owl are cinnamon with fine black vermiculation and heavy stripes, while the underparts are a pale tawny color with dusky streaks​​. The Striped Owl is native to a vast area encompassing parts of South and Central America. This owl is adaptable in terms of habitat, being found in environments like riparian woodlands, marshes, savannahs, grassy open areas, and tropical rainforests. It is able to live from sea level up to altitudes of about 5,200 feet​​.
