Pamplona is known for its colonial architecture, cultural heritage, and as a university town.Heading west on the highway, you ascend into the Páramo de Berlín, one of the coldest ecosystems in Colombia, characterized by misty grasslands, unique high-altitude flora like frailejones, and stunning views. This páramo is part of the Santurban moorlands, a vital water source for the region. Going east, the road descends dramatically toward Cúcuta, a major city on the Venezuelan border. The highway between Pamplona and Cúcuta features winding mountain roads.
