Murraya paniculata (Orange Jessamine)
A small ornamental tree native to Southeastern Asia. The plant is known for its strongly fragrant white flowers and for oil extraction. The red ornamental fruits, along with the flowers, are used to scent tea, while the leaves are used to flavor curries. The plant’s pharmacological potential is tied to its phytochemical composition, which is believed to harbor substantial pharmacological values. Photographed in Ibagué, Colombia.
