Macadamia integrifolia (Macadamia)
Hailing from the rainforests of southeastern Queensland, Australia, the macadamia nut tree, known for its sweet, whitish nuts, stands tall and evergreen, reaching up to 50 feet in height. It is now in commercial in the tropics. The flowers are fragrant in drooping clusters. The macadamia nut is cherished for its rich flavor a healthy mature tree can yield 30 to 50 pounds of nuts annually. The nuts are an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, fiber, and vitamin B1, among other nutrients.
