Hoya diversifolia
Native to Southeast Asia, this perennial vine grows on trees, sometimes densely covering their branches. Thick, fleshy leaves are elliptic to obovate and can reach about five inches long. Umbrella-like clusters carry cream or pink star-shaped flowers with pink centers. Slender seed follicles split along one side when mature. The plant tolerates varied habitats, including coastal and mangrove forests, and its flowers are pollinated by insects. Although widespread in Southeast Asia, it is classified as vulnerable in Singapore. Photographed in Florida.
