Heliconia aurea

Native to Colombia and Venezuela, this is an herbaceous plant in the Heliconiaceae family. One of one hundred native Colombian species of the genus Heliconia with a habitat between 500 and 7,000 feet. Heliconia is a cultivated cut-flower in Colombia.
