Originating from Colombia and Ecuador with a habitat between 2,100 and 8,600 feet, the bush violet is a shrubby, woody-based perennial belonging to the nightshade family. When cultivated as an annual, it can reach a height of 2 feet, showcasing tubular, five-lobed, white, or purple-blue flowers with white centers that bloom from late spring to fall.  Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central).
