Bakeridesia integerrima (Canary Tree)

Native to the regions of Central America and the Caribbean, extending from Mexico south to Colombia and Venezuela. Its habit typically suits both dry and moist forests, as well as secondary forests and disturbed areas. The mature plant has the capacity to reach a height of up to 10 meters. The color of the flowers ranges from pale yellow through gold, sometimes displaying a red blotch near the center of the flowers. It blooms in profusion for 6 to 8 months with one to two-inch yellow flowers exhibiting orange streaks in the throat. The plant can withstand brief periods of mild frost.
