Bred in Singapore, this tropical landscape orchid is an intergeneric hybrid between Arachnis hookeriana and Vanda ‘Tan Chay Yan’, combining the tall, sun-tolerant growth of its Arachnis parent with the vivid color and form of its Vanda lineage. Mature plants often reach 6–10 ft in height, producing long, cane-like stems with numerous aerial roots and multiple flowering spikes during extended warm seasons. The inflorescences, typically 12–24 in long, carry 10–20 flowers about 2–3 in wide. Each bloom has five broad, slightly undulating segments arranged around a small contrasting lip, most often in rich violet or magenta with subtle veining or tessellation. The flowers are valued for their durability in heat and full sun.
