Anigozanthos flavidus (Kangaroo Paws)

Native to the southwestern regions of Western Australia. The Kangaroo Paw is well-adapted to the Mediterranean climate and is drought tolerant. The flowers are normally green but can be shades of red, orange, yellow, and pink. Cultivated between 4,000 and 9,000 feet in Colombia where it flowers year-round. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia where it can be seen in many gardens.
