Agave angustifolia (Caribbean Agave)
Native to Mexico. Does well in arid landscapes to tropical climates. As with other agave species, Agave angustifolia undergoes a captivating flowering process. After several years of growth, a tall flowering stalk emerges, showcasing a striking inflorescence with greenish-yellow flowers. Like many other agave species, certain parts of Agave angustifolia are used to produce the alcoholic beverage known as mezcal. Photographed in the department of Cacua, Colombia.
