Witheringia solanacea


Native from Mexico and Central America into northwestern South America, Witheringia solanacea is a shrub of humid forest understory, margins, and secondary vegetation. Broad leaves have prominent veins and slightly wavy edges. Small pale flowers are followed by rounded berries that change from green to orange-red as they ripen. Photographed in Colombia.
