Whitfieldia elongata

Native to tropical western and central Africa, Whitfieldia elongata is an evergreen shrub of humid forest understory and stream margins. Glossy opposite leaves frame upright terminal clusters. Long white tubular flowers open into five spreading lobes, while pale green bracts and buds remain tightly grouped along the flowering stems. Photographed in Florida.
