Viburnum tinus cluster of open white flowers and rounded cream buds against dark foliage

Viburnum tinus

Native to the Mediterranean region and Macaronesia, Viburnum tinus is a dense evergreen shrub with opposite leathery leaves. Flattened rounded clusters develop from pink-tinged buds and open into many small white flowers with yellow-tipped stamens. The blossoms are followed by oval fruits that mature to a metallic blue-black color. Photographed in Florida.
