Vallea stipularis
A small tree that hails from the Andean mountains of South America. The plant's inflorescence is noted for its pinkish-red to crimson bell-shaped flowers, accompanied by a warty fruit that often dehisces while still on the tree. Photographed in the eastern Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Oriental).
