Trimezia steyermarkii
Trimezia steyermarkii is a perennial herb native from southern Mexico through Central America and Colombia to northwestern Venezuela. It forms clumps of flat, strap-like leaves arranged in fans. The yellow flowers have three broad outer segments and three smaller, curved inner segments with prominent brown markings. Flowers last one day, and spent flowering stems can produce plantlets that root when they reach the ground. Photographed in the department of Magdalena, Colombia.
