Thunbergia alata (Black-Eyed Susan )

A vine originating from Eastern Africa, has become a global presence. It is celebrated for its prolific flowering from mid-summer to the first frost and even year-round in frost-free zones. It has several cultivars featuring a variety of flower colors. It has become invasive in parts of the Caribbean, Pacific islands, and the Americas above 6.000 feet for example around Quito Ecuador. A common ornamental vine in Bogotá, Colombia. Photographed in the western Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Occidental).
