Tagetes erecta mass planting of orange white purple and yellow flowering cultivars

Tagetes erecta

Native to Mexico and Central America, Tagetes erecta is an aromatic annual herb widely known as African marigold or cempasúchil. Cultivated forms produce densely doubled flower heads in yellow, orange, cream, and intermediate shades. Upright branching stems carry divided, strongly aromatic leaves beneath the large terminal flowers. Photographed in Colombia.
