Tagetes elliptica

Native to the central Andes, Tagetes elliptica is an aromatic herb of mountain grassland and cultivated ground. Golden yellow flower heads combine broad ray florets with a dense central disk. Opposite leaves are divided into toothed leaflets, and branching stems carry several flower heads above the foliage. Photographed in Colombia.
