Native to tropical western and central Africa, Strophanthus preussii is a woody climbing vine of humid forests. White flowers have purple-striped throats and five extremely long, narrow petal tips that hang below the corolla. The stems climb high into surrounding vegetation, and the plant contains toxic cardiac glycosides. Photographed in Florida.
