Struthanthus cassythoides

Native to Central America, Struthanthus cassythoides is a woody aerial hemiparasite that grows on the branches of host trees. Slender greenish inflorescences carry numerous small yellow flowers with narrow spreading segments. Its stems attach to living branches and draw water and minerals from the host while retaining green photosynthetic foliage. Photographed in Florida.
