Senna multijuga tree crown covered with branched clusters of yellow flowers and pinnate leaves

Senna multijuga

A fast-growing tropical American tree, this species has long pinnate leaves divided into many small paired leaflets. Branched terminal clusters carry numerous yellow flowers and can cover much of the crown during the flowering season. Slender flattened pods develop after the blossoms fade. Research-grade observations document the species in Colombia and Panama, including trees growing in disturbed forest and open landscapes. Photographed in Colombia.
