Santa Verónica is a small coastal beach town located in the Atlántico Department of northern Colombia, roughly midway between Cartagena and Barranquilla along the Via al Mar (Route 90A) about 50 minutes from Barranquilla and 90 minutes from Cartagena by car. The town’s main beach, Playa Santa Verónica, features wide stretches of sand and strong Caribbean trade winds, which have made it an increasingly popular destination for windsurfing and kiteboarding. There are kite schools and rental shops in the town offering lessons. While the town is relatively small and quiet, it has seen modest development in recent years, with eco-lodges, hostels, and private beach houses.
