Salvia sagittata
Salvia sagittata is an Andean perennial herb native from Colombia through Ecuador to Peru. Its leaves have distinctive arrow-shaped bases, and upright stems carry intense blue two-lipped flowers in separated whorls. The flowers show a broad lower lip and an arched upper section. It occurs in open high-elevation vegetation, including pƔramo and slopes above 9,800 feet. Research-grade observations document it in Ecuador and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
