A drought tolerant shrub native to Mexico and Central America it has been embraced in gardens for its ornamental value. It is resilient to deer and rabbit interference. Its flowers, white with purple calyxes. Awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
