Salvia farinacea 'Sallyfun Deep Ocean'

Salvia farinacea ‘Sallyfun Deep Ocean’ is a compact cultivar of a perennial herb native to the south-central United States and northeastern Mexico. Upright square stems carry narrow gray-green leaves and dense spikes of deep violet-blue two-lipped flowers. Pale, powdery hairs on the calyces and upper stems give the inflorescences the mealy appearance associated with the species. Photographed in Florida.
