Salvia caymanensis
This plant is a small aromatic shrub native to Grand Cayman. Opposite gray-green leaves grow on branching stems, and small blue to violet two-lipped flowers form along upright spikes. Tiny white hairs cover the undersides of the leaves. This rare island species grows in sandy thickets and clearings, often in areas disturbed by storms and hurricanes. Photographed in Florida.
