Rubus ulmifolius

A prickly shrub native to Europe, North Africa, and western Asia, Rubus ulmifolius has arching stems and compound leaves with toothed leaflets. Pale pink flowers carry five broad petals around numerous stamens and a green central cluster of developing carpels. The flowers later produce dark aggregate fruits. Photographed in Colombia.
