Pyracantha angustifolia
An evergreen shrub in the Rosaceae family, Pyracantha angustifolia is native from northeastern India to southern China and has naturalized in other regions. Its stiff branches often bear woody thorns. The narrow leaves have mostly smooth margins and a persistent covering of gray hairs on their undersides. Small white flowers grow in branched clusters, each with five rounded petals and numerous stamens. These are followed by orange to reddish pomes that retain the calyx lobes at their tips. Photographed in Salento, Colombia.
