Psychotria viridis

Psychotria viridis is an evergreen tropical shrub native across northern and western South America. Opposite glossy leaves show prominent veins, and branching terminal clusters carry many small pale flowers with narrow lobes. Rounded fruits follow the blossoms and change color as they ripen. The species grows primarily in wet tropical forest. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
