Psychotria nervosa

Psychotria nervosa is an evergreen shrub native to Florida, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America. Glossy opposite leaves have strongly impressed veins, and small white flowers form compact terminal clusters. Rounded fruits ripen from green to bright red and provide food for birds and other wildlife. Research-grade observations document the species in Colombia and Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
