Pseuderanthemum alatum

A perennial herb native to Mexico and Central America, Pseuderanthemum alatum grows in seasonally moist tropical habitats. Slender flower spikes carry violet-blue blossoms with five rounded lobes and a pale throat, while the broad leaves often show silvery markings along the veins. The stems may spread to form low colonies. Photographed in Florida.
