Portea 'Jungle Book'

Portea ‘Jungle Book’ is a cultivated bromeliad selected for its tall, colorful inflorescence. A rosette of long, strap-shaped leaves produces an upright stalk with deep pink branches and numerous small flowers. The persistent floral structure remains decorative well beyond the first opening blossoms. The leaf rosette forms a central reservoir that catches rainwater and suspended organic matter, a characteristic structure of tank bromeliads. Photographed in Florida.
