Piper friedrichsthalii

Piper friedrichsthalii is a tropical shrub or small tree native to Central America. Its slender stems carry narrow leaves with prominent lengthwise veins. Long pale flower spikes curve outward from the leaf nodes and later bear many tiny fruits. The species grows in humid forest and secondary vegetation, and research-grade observations document it in Panama. Photographed in Colombia.
