Pilea mollis

Pilea mollis is a compact tropical perennial in the nettle family. Its opposite leaves have deeply quilted surfaces, scalloped margins, and contrasting green-to-bronze coloration. Tiny pale flowers are grouped in branching clusters that rise just above the foliage. The deeply impressed veins create raised quilted areas between them, giving each leaf a strongly textured surface. Photographed in Florida.
