Pilea cadierei pale branching flower clusters rising above silver patterned green leaves

Pilea cadierei

Pilea cadierei is a compact perennial herb native to Vietnam and southern China. Its opposite green leaves have raised silvery patches between the veins, giving the plant its aluminum-like pattern. Small pale flowers are grouped in branching clusters above the foliage. The species is widely cultivated and research-grade observations document it in Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, and Peru. Photographed in Colombia.
