Native to South Africa, Pelargonium zonale, is an upright or scrambling shrub that can reach up to 10 feet with support. This species is characterized by its succulent stems, which are hairy when young and become woody as they age. The leaves often display a narrow, dark, zigzag "zone" of pigmentation, with flower colors ranging from red, pink, white, orange, to purple​. Photographed in Armenia, Colombia
