A red Passiflorta manicuta flower with green stigmas and red styles and yellow anthers and purple coronas in sunlight
Passiflora manicata

Native to the interandean valleys of Colombia and Ecuador. The vibrant facade of the Red Passion Flower is dons saucer-shaped, bright red flowers, accented white at the bases, and adorned with short blue and white coronas. These botanical spectacles are accompanied by glossy, deep green fruits, stretching to about 2 inches in length. The fruit is edible, but I have never seen it sold and it may be hallucinogenic. Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia (Cordillera Central).
