Passiflora edulis edulis (Purple passionfruit)

A vine originating from southern Brazil that produces abundant flowers and fruit. The acidic fruit with a richer aroma and flavor compared to its yellow counterpart, is botanically categorized as a berry, and excellent for juices, The purple colored variety goes by the name of curuba redonda in Colombia and is not as popular as the larger yellow variety.
