Miltonia moreliana
Native to eastern Brazil from southeastern Bahia to São Paulo, this orchid grows on trees. Its flattened pseudobulbs carry two leaves. Each flower stalk bears a single bloom and is covered by large, overlapping bracts. The dark purple petals and sepals surround a broad, lighter pink-purple lip marked with darker veins and a yellow thickening near its base. Photographed in the department of Quindío, Colombia.
