Leuenbergeria bleo (Rose Cactus)

Native to the moist, shady forests of Central America to Northwestern Colombia, this unique plant, has established itself in various parts of the world. The plant's stature, growing to a woody, prickly shrub of at least 4 meters tall, coupled with its striking orange flowers resembling rose blossoms. A medicinal plant utilized for various ailments. The leaf, yellow fruit and flower are all edible. The fruit is juicy, but sour. Photographed in Barranquilla, Colombia.
