Leucanthemum × superbum (Shasta Daisy)

Developed in cultivation, this herbaceous plant is a horticultural hybrid. A hybrid involving several daisy species. The goal was to develop a daisy with larger blooms reminiscent of the snow-capped peaks of California’s Mount Shasta, hence its common name​. Over the years, numerous cultivars have been developed some that have been honored with the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit. Photographed in the Cocora Valley, Colombia.
