Drooping pink-orange Kalanchoe flowers on branching stalks

Kalanchoe daigremontiana

Native species occur across tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Asia, and nearby islands. This genus includes succulent herbs, shrubs, and trees with fleshy leaves and tubular or bell-shaped flowers. Some members reproduce by forming tiny plantlets along their leaf edges. One member, Kalanchoe delagoensis, and its hybrids are invasive in New South Wales, Australia, where detached plantlets readily establish new colonies. Those plants are poisonous to people, pets, and livestock if eaten. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
